2014 New York Wine Experience Trip; 10/14/2014-10/21/2014 (New York City, NY): Cougar Crest has produced a gem with this pale yellow Viognier. Intensely aromatic, it flaunts perfumy white flowers, tangerine, honey and hazelnut. Light-bodied, crisply acidic, seamlessly alcoholic (13.5%) and with beautiful citrus and honey flavors, it keeps the middle palate nicely occupied and closes with a very long finish. If this winery is not on your radar, it should be! Drink now-2020.

This is really quite nice and surprising Viognier. The nose has some tropical fruit, melons, and floral hints. The palate is rich and unctuous yet still retains enough freshness not to feel thick or heavy. Overall this is quite good, especially for the price.

palate: heavy body, great acidity, buttery texture [but no discernible oak]. flavors of mandarins and honey. subtle finish with some waxiness but at this point who cares when the rest was sooo good

Realtively muted nose with honey and mineral. On palate nicely crisp with apricot and honey finishing with glycerine and mineral notes
