  Not sure why, but this vineyard's results with Alta Maria's fine winemaking just didn't ring my bell. Well-made, but the fruit shows more Gamay character than Pinot Noir. Is carbonic maceration used as in Beaujolais? In any case, showed tart cranberry flavors, little strawberry or cherry flavor, and a medium-bodied result with a fairly short finish. Not unpleasant, just not a Pinot Noir profile as expected. Perhaps this is an unusual close from this particular vineyard.
