Fruit Day - decanted off about 3 tablespoons of fine sediment (one good sized chunk). Dark wide ruby core slowly graduating to a browning edge and very thin colourless rim. Nose of plum and raisin compote with oak, sawdust, dried red flowers, and vanilla extract. Ripe plums along with dates and figs on the richly flavoured palate. Very smooth and plush. There’s definitely some sawdust and alcohol heat on the finish with the figs, dates and raisin flavours continuing. Fully mature and I don’t think I’ll wait much longer to enjoy my last bottle.

I think this wine is getting better, and more complex....still quite a bit of fruit present, but more mellow, with hints of olive in the background. Nice cork....should be able to age quite a bit longer.

Holy smokes. 18 years old. Amazing. Still lots of life left in this bad boy. Almost fully integrated tannins. Dark fruits.
