The Inaugural Athlos House Wine Event (Athlos House , Lefkosia): Impressively young and albeit we decanted still this needs its time and preferably more cellaring albeit we are sure the call here is to serve it while the fruit is still rich. Rich but also restrained, no over done or over pushed elements and albeit the wine is a bit obvious in the new world style this retains its elegance and class. Proper 91 for now and with a lot of life left and points to be gained.

Full of fruit, powerful but simple structure. A very dry wine with too much oak from my taste. Good final. Wine is more supple than a full malbec, thanks to a blend with Cab Sauv.

In prime form right now if just rather big and chunky.

Incredibly smooth. Drinking beautifully. Still some fruit so probably has a few years left, but is close to peak.

Decanter Fine Wine Encounter (The Landmark, London): Slightly sour blackcurrant, Ribena, cream joins fruit on the palate tannins re drying, persistent but finely textured. Again this is quite simple.
