I’m going to preface this tasting note with the following: My tastes are decidedly not aligned with average, and your mileage can, and likely will, vary. A peek at my other tasting notes would be telling. This bottle has been sitting in my cellar, purchased at a point well prior to the development of my current wine preferences (or snobbery, as the case may be).
For me, and for my palate, this wine is not particularly drinkable. I will say that it has an interesting and unusual nose that is nothing so much as reminiscent of baked beans — with strong meaty notes, especially bacon. The palate is thick, heavy, and along the same lines. It’s not particularly balanced in my view, and I have a hard time getting past that weird nose.
Each to their own; this just doesn’t work for me.

Had this side by side with the 2013. The 2012 is pretty good, but the 2013 is in something of a different league. The 2012 has more bite, a little more tannin, and perhaps a bit more of the darker flavors. Also, on the second day it flattened, whereas the 2013 actually opened up. Good QPR for the 2012 at $20 per bottle, but I ended up purchasing a case of the 2013 at $25 per bottle.

The last 25% of the bottle kept in the refrigerator for an additional two days. Aromatic nose of cherry and blackberry fruit, more of the same on the palate, medium body, delicious, tannins are resolved, smooth and supple, almost mouth filling, lovely wine for the price, suggest you open and decant for 1 hour before you taste.

Nice for a general red blend. Deep red colour. Some floral notes along with a bit of licorice flavour. Light body with a short finish.
