Another bottle that I hadn't recorded in CT, how lucky for me to dig it out! Fairly opaque, and lots of fine sediment in the bottle. Dark plum color. Plums and cherries. Velvety smooth, light tannins. Beautiful with roast leg of lamb.

This is doing well. Nice and savoury with deep cherry and plum aromas and flavours. Some black pepper on the nose and a bit on the finish, too. Excellent on day 2 as well.

After seeing the community notes here I was pretty leery, especially given my haphazard cellaring, but I was very pleasantly surprised by this bottle. Guess I was lucky with this one. Color is a bright, clear red, I'd say along the lines of pomegranate juice. Nose full of savory things I can't pinpoint. On the palate, restrained fruit, dry and slightly acidic, still with noticeable tannins. More Europe than California. It's held up well, and we're quite enjoying it.

Similar to last time, but a bit thinner and with more pepper. It has a real Northern Rhone feel, which I enjoy.
