Community Tasting Notes (7) Avg Score: 90.9 points

  • Brief note from a blind tasting. Lovely straw colour and displaying restrained white peach and green melon aromas, very inviting. On the palate its rather elegant, very true Chardonnay flavours, restrained oak, good acidity and nice length. Its nice rather than impressive and I'd like just a bit more flavour but it sure is a good example and enjoyable. Rather more 1er Chablis than knockout Burgundy, in a good way. Plenty of life left especially being screwcap.

  • I am re-rating this wine. 18 months later, it is now entering its drinking window and as the fruits fade, secondary characteristics are taking over including the oak. I found decanting it gave a more creamy, aromatic and textured experience.

A terrific wine and that will be in its peak for another 3-5 years comfortably.

  • Just 400 cases of this wine were made. Still glowing yellow even with flecks of green despite a decade of age. Pristine and youthful nose. Balanced ripe melon and cashew on the palate. Very fresh and clean. Restrained oak. Drink now to 2030+. 94-95 pts. (interestingly just checked their website and JH gave 97, drink to 2022... points a little high for me, but conservative on the drinking window!)

  • Still a tad too young and perhaps it is still going through a developmental phase before getting into its prime. Melon, white peach but not as textured as one would expect. Lovely dry finish. A well balanced and well made wine which bodes well for the future. Give it another 3+ years before it will be in its prime.

  • Pretty complex but not in a overworked way. A bit of butter but not too much, a bit of cream but not too much, a bit of oak, but not too much. Some lemon and lime skins plus some stone fruits - apricots, white peaches. Good balance, and still should get better.
