Rich and intense, but no ware ready for consumption. The tannins are still a bit heavy, even after a six hour decant. I am not rating presently as I believe this cab improve markedly with time, say, another five years. Enjoyed the barrel tasting with EMTAME in 2014 and would have given the wine at least a 96 rating. It was easily the best wine we sampled that day. At the time Todd said he wasn't sure he would bottle it, but alass, he did because he knew he had something very special.

First had this as a barrel sample in 2014 and it was unbelievable then. Now several years in bottle, some of the stunning lushness has receded and a tart acidity has come along to balance the fruit for the long haul. Still very good, but I miss the velvety, juicy treasure this was pre-bottling. If you open it soon, give it 2-3 hours in the decanter so it can unfurl itself.
Another incredible wine from Robert Hunt at Anderson’s Conn Valley! I know Robert and Todd use this to blend, but Wow! Silky smooth (typical ACV) with tastes of black currants, a touch of plumb and vanilla. Drinking beautifully but easily capable of cellaring another 10-15 years. Been decanted for 5+ hours. So excited we have another 8 bottles!
Spectacular wine. First tasted this from the barrel. Everything comes together beautifully in this merlot. Lush, mouth filling fruit. Merlot at it's best.
