In a really nice place. On the first night, really aromatically expressive—showing red fruits and spice. On the palate there is some tannic structure, and the fruit seems to darken, with just a hint of bitterness on the finish, which recedes once paired with food. On night two the wine is less red-fruity and more dark fruited—less D&R and more Bandol, with earth and spice playing a stronger role. This has structure to support further aging but it’s pretty compelling right now too.

Light to medium red in color, with aromas of red fruits, rose petal, and cedar. In the mouth, dried cherry, smoky game, and cedar flavors are seamless yet distinct, pleasing, and not weighty. Tannins build on the medium-long finish. This wine is fun and serious at the same time, and certainly pleasing to drink.

Good, deep Mourvèdre brimming with dark brambly fruit and a complex soup of non-fruit flavors. Bolder and deeper than a typical D&R and excellent with roast chicken.

Oh well, all gone. Last bottle, but damn it was good. Some of the baby fat had finally worn away, and the structure and some Mourvèdre wildness came out to play. Honestly, I wish I had one more to age another 5-7 years, just to see what would happen. Alas, at least this will teach me patience with the other vintages.

lots of dark berry and what came across as some cinnamon on the palate. still pretty youthful.
