Over the last year I have tasted a number of +/- 10-year-old Ridge Zins. Most have been disappointing due to their lack of vibrancy and fading fruit. This is, fortunately, an exception. Zinfandel screams out in both the nose and taste. That said, like so many other of the "modern-style" Ridge Zins, this is not a wine to be kept around for long. Enjoy now for its classic Ridge Zinfandel berry, American oak vanilla characteristics.

deep garnet, in color. blackberry, plum, dark cherry, damp earth, cedar, pepper, spice, leather. cranberry juice, savory, fine grained tannins, on the finish.

This was good. I’m glad we opened it as the flavor doesn’t seem like it’s going to keep developing. Was on the lighter side with nice fruit notes but not overly fruity. It needed a bunch of time to open up. Was better on day 2

Drinking very well..notes of red and purple berries on the nose and palate. Balanced tannins with a medium + finish.
