  • Very good daily white, creamy, fresh, with some depth. Great mineral finish with very healthy acidity. Thoroughly enjoyed it and for its price it's a steal!

  • A lovely bottle - with pea and ham soup and later on its own. really rich creamy sweet vanilla notes - like the cream soda soft drink we had as kids (that's a good thing)!

  • Aged for 12 months in oak barrels (50% new).

Very intense yellow-green color. Sweetly-fruited, rich and noticeably creamy nose with aromas of honeydew melon, sweet caramel oak, savory wood spice, some pineapple-driven exotic fruit, a little bit of butterscotch and a hint of vanilla. The wine is full-bodied, soft and creamy on the palate with some alcohol warmth and quite rich flavors of ripe yellow stone fruits, honeydew melon, some butterscotch, a little bit of toasty oak spice, light gummi bear candy tones, a hint of poached pear and a touch of vanilla. I usually expect a Chenin Blanc to show good acidity, typical of the variety, but this wine feels relatively low in acidity, hence the rather soft and round mouthfeel. The finish is spicy, creamy and pretty unctuous, but as there isn't much acidity to lend intensity to the wine, it feels rather short in length. There are bold yet quite brief flavors of spicy, woody oak, some ripe red apples, a little bit of creaminess, light toffee tones, a hint of honey and pineapple and a touch of vanilla,.

Ugh, nope. I love Chenin Blanc's racy acidity, intense freshness of the fruit and capability to convey the terroir, that sense of place. This wine doesn't show any of those characteristics. If somebody said to me this was an oaked Chardonnay, I wouldn't hesitate one second to agree with them. What's the point in making wines that could taste like they could be made anywhere from any possible grapes? I understand if it's dirt-cheap plonk, but at 16,98€ this is supposed to be premium wine. Premium rip-off is what this is. Avoid.
