Just a brief impression: so very different from the current style, but super interesting. Orange peel, cranberry, and a kaleidoscope of weird but cool flavors. Quite restrained compared to recent vintages. Yum!

Amazingly, the ruby red color, with no real bricking, makes me think this is a much younger wine. The nose is expressive and refined with ample red fruit, cherry and raspberry. This wine really shines on the palate with cherry, cranberry, and raspberry as well as a sophisticated touch of mineral. The acidity is still bright and the tannins have receeded, leaving a medium- bodied wine with a silky mouthfeel. Overall, I had high expectations for an aged pinot from the Summa Vineyard, and this delivered. I was shocked by the amazingly balanced, spherical profile as well as the youthful fruit that made me think this was less than 5 years old. Spectacular for its youth and its class.

Medium garnet/ruby color. The nose exploded from the glass with raspberry, cherry, roses, mint, and a touch of funk. The palate was surprisingly youthful with ripe, red fruit, tobacco, and mint notes. Structurally, the acidity was balanced and the silky mouthfeel belied the quality of this wine. Overall, we really enjoyed this wine alone and with the asian-inspired short ribs over a pasta. The acidity cut through the spicy sauce, but the silkiness meshed well with the amazingly tender ribs.

Pop-n-pour and drank over 2+ hours along with other wines. Dark raspberry color with a touch of cloudiness. Big fruit and texture for such an aged wine. Black cherry, strawberry jam, tobacco and mushroom notes. Still has balanced acidity and some soft tannins on a pretty long finish. Nice bottle of Pinot.
