I'd say that this bottle may not be perfectly representative, as I unfortunately had to leave it in the fridge for about 6 months (it was either that or leave it out in the heat and variable temperature of a Florida condo room while we were away, and I didn't plan on being gone so long), but I'll note it anyway with that caveat.
Very dense, opaque coloring with ruby to garnet at the very edges. Was nervous on the pop, as the nose was all dried fruits, but it did open up with a short bit of air to reveal dark and dark red fruits, rose petals, green pepper, earth, wet tobacco, eucalyptus, and minerals. Medium body, medium (+) acid, and long finish, with flavors of dark and dark red fruits, black tea, orange peel, licorice, and spice, along with a trace of heat here and there. A little overpriced at the $40 I paid, but this shop tends to run high, so probably about right at $25-30. Paired fine with our pasta tonight, but could stand up to a steak and heavier fare as well.

KOV Silent Auction Big Reds of Italy Class. International-style blend of 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 25% Sangiovese and 15% Syrah. Tasted from a magnum which had been decanted for several hours. Medium (+) ruby, with very little sign of aging. The nose is clean, with medium (+) intensity and very pleasant black fruit, red fruit, baking spices, earth and licorice. The palate is dry, nicely balanced, with medium to medium (+) acidity, medium to medium (+) ripe tannins and medium (+) alcohol. This is drinking very well now, with a decant. Tasters who did not like it as much 2-3 years ago were just drinking it too early. This is a serious wine, despite the moderate price.

It was nothing special, the intensity of the fruit was medium, rather tannic, good freshness but overall it was too bitter and heavy and so not enough elegant for my tastes. I expected more

Wine makers dinner. A hint of bell peppers on the nose. Wonderful aroma. Great flavour with dark red fruits, tannins son and acidity in great balance. Will buy some
