  Weekly tasting group RWP : 10 completely different wines fully blind (@ My place): Ripe cherry fruits, firm acidity and slightly sticky tannin. No more notes, but an ok wine.

  Surprised how much I enjoyed this 5-y-o wine. No decant. Nose was old berry and musty closet, and I mean that in a very good way. Taste is raisiny and faint dark berry, starting sweet, ending tart. Paired with cheese ravioli in a tomato, kalamata olive sauce, it got better and better through the meal. Loves parmesan!

  Soft black cherry with black tea underpinnings and a tart blackberry bite that lets you know it still has some life left. Smooth yet slightly rustic. $7 by the glass and $27 / bottle at Paulo's on 54 is a steal. Grade A (95) as a restaurant purchase, especially by the glass!
