This is pretty good. The wine is made from self-rooted Chenin Blanc vines planted in 1979. Aged in barrels, one of which was new with medium toast, and the other four of which were older, neutral barrels. Recognizably Chenin, with apple and wincing lemon, herbs, lots of acidity, a bit sweet on finish. It's a bit light/watery in body, lacking the fullness and firmness of texture of the better Loire Chenins. Tasty drink. Is it better than, say, Pinon Vouvray, which costs the same? No. But it's legit Chenin in the Loire mold.

Oregon Tasting with special guest Jade Helm (Common Lot Restaurant - Millburn, NJ): Very light straw color. Palate of perfume/floral notes. Thin palate of apple, citrus, some sweetness comes through. This bottle had some spritz in it...maybe an off bottle
Better to look for Chenin from the Loire based on this tasting...
