  • In the decanter 3 hours prior to drinking. Out the bottle it is vibrant purple which fades to ruby with time open. No bricking around the hue. A great Cambrian soil example, dense, brooding, hearty and savoury. Notes of dark fruits, black plums and black cherries, cloves, cardamon and liquorice. Tannins are a little hard and persistent but this is integrating well. Medium + finish. Enjoyed this. Drink over the next 5 years.

  • One hour in the decanter was not enough for this wine. The nose was understated and at first the tannic grip overcame the fruit on the palate.
To my surprise, the wine softened considerably after more than 30 minutes in the glass. It may well be a better proposition tomorrow when the remaining half will be consumed. Not a wine to seamlessly slide down your throat at first however.

  • Nose shows strong notes of anise and rosemary, with tight black fruit and a hint of golden caramel. Palate is light-to-medium-bodied, with lots of light, smooth tannin. Flavours of red and black fruit, oak, and spice. Individual flavours are hard to identify, but this has a lot of great flavour, and feels like it can still improve when it opens up further.

  • Deep dark purple, thin crimson hue. Aroma of oak, pepper and light spice. Milk chocolate, stewed plum, smooth and creamy, peppery finish. Medium plus body, medium finish, medium minus acidity. An enjoyable wine, good body and fruit.

Leaping out of the glass is lovely ripe black fruits , blueberries , plumbs an prunes with lovely new french oak enhancing such great fruit. excellent On the palate lovely ripe sweet upfront fruit flavour similar to above , rich mid palate an lovely oily tannins giving great persistence an length , excellent
Still young for certain as tannins still need to soften , so drink from 2020 onwards an will live another 5+ after that. QPR excellent at $40 mark, an great rare beef wine with rich jus.
