Lovely rich, deep colour, on opening black cherry with hints of salt caramel and mint, missing some flavour generally on tasting, but as it was too cold (12C) it isn't surprising. On warming it is much richer and more black and sour cherry, spice and violet. Much more satisfying on the palette with well integrated tannins and plenty of fuit and pepper. Spot on right now, should keep still, but no qualms about finishing the rest of the stock before the end of the year.

I was surprised by the flavor profile of this wine. Much more tart and red fruit oriented than I expected. I might have suspected this to be a Gamay or even a PN if I had blind tasted this wine. It is a little on the thin side right now, but bear in mind I did merely open and pour. A decant probably would have helped reveal more character. Still, a pretty good wine, if for no other reason because of the interesting flavor profile.

Opened one hour in advance. Slightly sweaty aroma of black fruit. Rich, tart, mutable flavors of cassis, huckleberries. Lingering orange peel finish.
This is the complete package. Balanced, complex, great depth, solid backbone. I think there's plenty room for growth, but it is already well integrated and well developed. Great QPR as well.

Better on day 2. Needs some time in the cellar.
