  APPEARANCE: Dark ruby colour. 14% ABV.
  NOSE: Vanilla, dark berries, very dark cherries, flowers, old roses, old wood. A hint of shoe polish. With air and time the nose becomes more perfumed and ethereal (87p)
  TASTE: Very ripe fruit, dry tannins and not much more. Extracted and medium to full bodied but no elegance or sophistication here. (82p)
  OVERALL: A modern (Americanised) version of Tempranillo; highly extracted grapes which were probably harvested very ripe and subsequently put into new oak barrels. In other words a recipe for making an “international” and modern wine stripped of any address or personality. It’s nice and well made but could honestly have come from almost anywhere. Not unpleasant but utterly forgettable and not quite my cup of tea. The nose is significantly better than the taste of this wine. TOTAL SCORE 84 points.
