Tasted with 2 other wines from Corton this was the most complete on the night; not entirely sure what sections this is from, but appears that some other vintages are sourced from a combination of Renardes and Hautes Mourottes; the nose is open and pleasing with ripe fruit, spices, floral notes, and just a hint of iron; the palate is rich and dense with excellent concentration, but still really well balanced and if not quite elegant certainly not a bruiser. The finish is in lovely harmony. Good stuff

Five winos excellent adventure , mostly in Burgundy; 6/7/2019-6/15/2019 (Beaune, France): Medium expressive nose displaying sweet red fruit, cherry preserve, a hint of strawberry, sweet spices and earth. Very good concentration, nicely layered sweet red fruit, good acidity, earthy mineral, slightly coarse tannins and a medium to long jammy red fruit driven finish. Still needs another decade or more to resolve tannins.

Very fruity and expressive nose, but not over the top. Chalk and cherries on the palate, some astringency on finish. In the end a bit simple and awkward now showing too much oak. Revisit in 5 years hopefully comes together a bit better than today, though it's "ok" at the moment.

Grands Jours de Bourgogne 2014 Day 5: Volnay and Meursault, Corton 3-21-14: (A blend of Clos du Roi and Bressandes. Doesn't get much better than that). Nose shows brown plum, stemmy green? Struck match. Skunky. My type of aromas, but candied plum and palate hurts a bit?
