  • A longer-aged vintage Moscato made from Muscat grapes sourced from Canelli. Aged for an impressive 2 years on the lees in big steel tanks and for a further year in bottles before release. Dosage 130 g/l. Annual production of 6,000 bottles.

Deep, pale green color. Sweet, floral and fruity nose with aromas of mead, sweet ripe apples, some pear, a little rose and hints of honeyed dessert wines. Rich, concentrated and pear-driven palate with flavors of pronounced ripe pear, pear juice concentrate, pear drops, stony minerality, some floral nuances and hints of aromatic herbs. Quite high acidit that gives the wine almost crisp bite along with the brisk, small-sized mousse. Long, complex and rather spicy finish with flavors of ripe apple, pear, cinnamon, honeyed mead, some sweet spices and a hint of bitterness.

Usually Moscatos of Asti are fun but very simple and straightforward stuff. This, instead, is a surprisingly serious, structured and complex effort. Really lovely! Easily one of the best Moscatos I've had, thoroughly recommended.
