Chenin Blanc from 70+ old vines, 20 grams residual sugar, 24 months in barrels. 40 mg volcanique SO2. • Flowers, mint, field grass. Very fresh fragrance. Many dried dates, marmalade, slight grapefruit with almonds and spoon of honey. Bright flavoring sweetness is compensated by good acidity and great balance (no trace of 14 degrees), it is a very interesting experience. Independent digestive to be deep in thought.

Smakstart på Sturköbaren: Dense appearance with a light golden hue. Fair development on the nose with tell-tale ripe chenin blanc aromas such as quince marmalade and yellow plums. Really generous on the palate, with concentration and ripeness like a mouelleux but sugars at moderate demi-sec level. It appears to be at least ten years old. What a surprise when the bottle is disclosed! This has to be made from really ripe grapes, with some botrytis, slow old-school pressing, some oxidation during vinification and perhaps also skin contact? There's a lot of pleasure to be had, but one could question if a white with three years of age should behave like it's ten years older.

Crushed apple, caramel. I sweet, saline and dry at the same time. Very unusual and exceptional wine

Misc wines at MGs place: Delicious! Slightly sweet but with sufficient acidity to control the balance. Lovely wine!
