- Brick color with a medium/full body. Leathery texture - Tight upon opening. Considering the age, I didn't expect as much need for air-time. Tho, tannic, it is still tastes young and fresh.

Wow, was this different from the last bottle. Very much alive, with a splendid balance of fruit, acid, and tannins, resulting in a wine with depth and elegance. For a CdR that's past its 11th year, this was a really welcome surprise. This medium-bodied effort is not getting any better, so if you have some, drink up. Sadly, it's my last bottle. 14,0% abv.

Very deep color. Initially, leather and marzipan on the nose, then some cooked vegatables and oak. Tannic and astringent on palate, some cranberry. Not particularly enjoyable straight out of the bottle. I'll let it open up a bit and post again later. Several hours later it's no better.

Okay nose at first, with a bit of coffee but a slight medicinal component; something a bit strange develops; a bit dried out on the palate, rather short finish. I imagine it would have been better a year or two ago.
