  • Restaurant purchase, popped and poured and drunk over the course of 3h.

Rose, red fruits, cherry, crunchy bramble and some potpourri notes on the nose. On entry there's this supple crunchy bramble fruit with high acid and a moderate svelte tannins that was then followed by a steep drop-off of nothingness. Though with about 20 minutes of air, the finish and mid-palate gained a bit more depth, and while it was still a steep incline it wasn't quite the sheer fall that the beginning had. If I chewed on it some the finish was like a less steep downhill cobbled street as opposed to smooth asphalt. It gave it texture and grip to make the fall down slower and now interesting and enjoyable. Nothing incredibly distinct or moving, bit enjoyable enjoy with food as the acid helped carry it through.

  • The bouquet was gorgeous with wonderfully fresh red fruits, pretty floral tones, wild herbs and minerals. On the palate, I found lifted textures with mineral-laden fruits, remaining juicy with enough grip to keep it exciting. The finish was long on soft red berry and minerals, yet refreshing and clean. This comes from a tiny parcel of old-vine Pinot Noir planted in a Meursault premier cru that’s aged in all neutral wood, it’s quite beautiful.
