Wow, loved this. Disregard what you see as the drinking window ending in 2021, this wine is still going strong. Displays a medium yellow color with obvious (and surprising) high viscosity in the glass. The nose is not shy at all, wonderful fragrance of ripe peach, white flowers, honey, with just the slightest hint of flint toward the end of the evening. Palate is richly textured, with appropriate acidity very nicely balancing out the secondary fruit. The viscosity provides for a nice elongated finish. If I tasted this blind, I’d guess Viogner owing to the softness of the nose. This producer is just knocking it out of the park, all the hype on Hirtzberger is well deserved.

Golden color. Muted aromatics, little bit floral, some citrus notes. This really shines on the palate. Big, and full with minerality, strong acidity. One of the bigger Gruners I have had

Blind tasted. This was tough. Rich body, obviously an Old World wine but with higher alcohol, so most of us were in Alsace with Riesling or Pinot Gris.

Quite powerful and broad, fine spiciness. Slightly saline. Great length. 92-93+
