Paso Robles Syrah. Inky purple/garnet in the glass. On the palate, fruit-forward, full-bodied with blackberry, black cherry, vanilla, toasty oak and hints of Christmas spice and mocha. Lengthy finish. Outstanding effort with phenomenal QPR. I paid around $25 for this wine. Grapes are sourced from St. Peter of Alcantara vineyard, which I previously described as the next James Berry. Slightly less extracted than the brilliant 2010 vintage. N.B., More recent vintages have been disappointing.
