Seems to be an iver ripened (or maybe heat exposed) version of its former self. There's a hint of the old magic bur no where near it'd best for the main part

Deep ruby in the glass, almost black. Explosive nose, aromas of stewed blackberries, plum, blueberries, mocha, dark chocolate, cedar, vanilla, cloves. Big and bold on the palate, overly rich and syrupy. I understand why people like this, but I can't get past one glass. It's a wine that keeps punching you in the face while you drink it. No subtlety, no elegance, just a stick of dynamite in a glass.

Drinking beautifully and easily a decade ahead if stored well. It has everything to be enjoyed now, voluptuous weight, hedonistically black ripe fruit and everything for the years ahead, the acidity, the tension and the 16% alc might just play a role in that too.
A wine that commands attention and just radiates luxury. Amazing value. Amazingly rare to get your hands on one.

Sipped over 4 hours and any time after 2+ hours this is prime. The focused core is immense, with hedonistic dark vanilla blueberry. It's big but it's simultaneously elegantly smooth. Excellent.

Marvel sets a high standard for entry-level Aussie Shiraz. Hint of sweetness in with wood and fruit jam, it's straightforward, easy-to-drink yet with characters to be enjoyed.
