  • Bought The Wine Society UK in 2015, approx £10
    Cork seal. Not decanted.

Very impressive smooth silky super-drinkable complex red blend. Lovely now but not fully mature in 2017, probably will be by 2022.

Tasted over 2 nights, just cork in bottle neck overnight, not rubber vac-u-vin pumped.

    First night....

Colour...dark plum, inky, no tawny on the rim. Nose....gorgeous red and black fruits, coffee, cedar, baccy, liquorice. Taste....pretty dry red wine, lovely fruit, a bit tight, some tannins but smooth enough, some richness which comes on later, massive fruit but acid too, very dinkable. No earthy impression at all.

2nd night.....Nose of espresso coffee, intense fruit, improved since last night. Taste....acid more to the fore now, maybe the Melbec, but still silky smooth and feels a full mouth-feel, settled and drinking superbly but not mature, seems less dry tonight, longer, rounder, classy. Still very good cellar potential.

VFM? Very good, defo buy again. Worthy every penny.

  • D+0h: no deposit in the filter nor in the bottle, smells of blackberry D+4h:
dark as ink, on the rim slightly purple red, smells of smoke, blackberry and a little bit of eucalyptus, medium body, not too dry without being sweet, the 14,5% alc. are well integrated, in the mouth blackberry and raspberry (and some acidity), in the aftertaste blackberry and some acidity, quite a long finish (25 sec.), a really good wine with a good price-quality-ratio, will buy again.

  • Very nice wine. It has a real old world feel to it.

  • A solid effort and great QPR. Medium body with enticing bouquet of blackberry and more earthy herbal and leather scents. Medium acidity and smooth tannins, the palate is tangy and filled with blackberry jam and anise. A bit chewy on the finish, but not unpleasantly so. The quality will surprise for the price and is a solid choice for volume at parties.

  • PnVnD let air for 1hr. Dark garnet purple claret color not saturated with clear rim. Vibrant cassis bramble sage and leather on the nose. Medium weight with silky tannins. Cassis plum sage touch of incense and leather on the palate. Zesty red and black fruits and cedar on a lingering finish. Great stuff at a great price. Saved 1/3 of the bottle to try tomorrow.

Day 2. Nicely integrated still bold fruits with elegance and complexity +2
