Visit to Sottimano (Barbaresco, CN): Interesting story, from the 60s, on how the Brachetto was discovered among all the Nebbiolo vines. This dry, silky style offers a fair amount of complexity, but it's all done in a very casual style, too. quaffnov's note is spot-on.
PnP, served non-blind.

Short decant with a nose of strawberry, cherry and some floral elements. The tannins are interesting and have more of a full mouth effect. Reasonable acidity, with the palate following the nose. Definitely very different than the sweet version of this wine, this is much preferred, an interesting style.

Bright nose of strawberry, red cherry, and rose petal. Balanced acidity, with flavors of cherry leading to a spicy finish. Drank this paired with stinging nettle pasta and it married beautifully. Drink over the next few years.
