  I knew in advance the wine was too young to open, but was in the mood for a really good merlot. Dark color belies the changing flavor in the glass. At first dark cherry with nice acidity, but a bit too tannic and heavy oak. However, after an hour in the glass...yes, in the glass, the wine evolves, opening up to bright red fruit, less oak, but still tannic. I'll hold my other bottles for at least 3 years.
