Some of the older Cotat wines have been a bit blowsy, tending toward oxidation, but this one was just terrifically incisive and fresh. Fully mature, with integrated flavors of pineapple and guava. Delicious. It attracted a lot of favorable comment at dinner, from the chardonnay fans and from the riesling fans.

A great sauvignon, which at 10 years of age, is still young. The nose is quite complex with honey and pear scents, followed by a lush mouthfeel, bright and energetic, with flavors of poached pear and exotic fruits, ending in a long and fresh finish. This is excellent, very good value here. Cotat likes to harvest very mature grapes which has been a challenge in the last very warm vintages. So I prefer to look out for Cotat's wines in fresh vintages.

hints of grapefruit as topnote but the wine is creamy and round, also in the mouth it is generous, medium bodied with low acidity, maybe a little too sweet to be ideal but a joy to drink now even tough it will get better in 3-5 years

Saturday evening dinner with Seb bringing this bottle along. Pairing it with Irish smoked salmon. Light gold Color. Interesting nose with pineapple, citrus, wet stones, white pepper and a bit of mushroom and cream. Med acidity, Med alcohol, Med flavor intensity, Med body, Med+ finish. Quite sweet impression, nice salinity, nose slightly more complex than mouth. Would be hard to guess this is a Sancerre as it all tastes like a crispy Burgundian. Very nice as a first intro to this cult producer.

Aromatiques bien définis et très charmeurs. Par contre la longueur la concentration moyennes trahissent... un millésime moyen.
