Quite elegant and light on its feet, with interesting profile of dark red fruits. Started off beautifully but faded after about 30-40 minutes (compared to Meo Clos Vougeot next to it which gained in the glass). Showed a touch of brett/funk. Good but drink now I think.

Dazzling wine with great finesse and lightness but also Corton power to go with its dark fruits. It will still hold but probably not get any better. A great match with rack of lamb (not an easy match for Burgundy).

Musique & Vin Festival BYO Dinner (Chateau de Meursault): Small glass, brief note. Slightly tired, and seemingly not pristine. Good fruit is clearly there, or was there, but I'd suspect an imperfectly stored bottle. This would be 88-89 points.

Dark red plum with a thin platinum meniscus. Rather thin high-toned and reticent with a bouquet of sous bois, clove stem, iodine, dried rosehips, black tea, coffee bean and cherry pit before hints of reduction. Some brett present. As the wine opens, there is a deeper level of forest, funk and earth that pervades. Wide and expansive on the palate with surprisingly spicy, rich and thick tannins, moderate acid and a long cola and sawdust finish. Stellar, if you can get past the brett and reduction...

Almost completely secondary on the nose: forest floor, menthol, and freshly peeled red beets. Primary on the palate, however: strawberry, cherry, raspberry, and beets again. Still vibrant and youthful. Sibilant, focused, concentrated, and powerful.

(Méo-Camuzet Corton Clos Rognets) Deep colour - almost saturated - young looking too. The nose has the residuals from creamy, toasty oak, enough to hide the fruit at any rate. Extra silky, fat palate, showing a supremely long and creamy finish. Excellent acidity with medium tannins. This is an oaky and very civilised Corton for fans of Australian shiraz. Does it show typicité? - maybe not. Is it compelling wine? - of course it is!
