Ready to drink now. Seductive and smooth with ripe red berries, prune, hawthorn, earthy, mushroom and hints of oak also sweet spices. Very Victoria Pinot style. Easy drinking, very delicious.

NobleRottersSydney - Yarra Valley (360 Bar & Dining, Sydney): {cork, 14%} [DavidM] Only a hint of development is apparent in the deep, malty, black fruit nose of this. The palate seems a touch reductive at first; the wine is warm and full on the palate, with liquorice and wood-smoke flavours to add to the black fruit, although not it’s overtly oaky. Plenty of presence on the front half of the tongue, less so towards the back. Feels weirdly young, and also – typically with all the historic pinot from YY – not especially varietal. Quite long finish, but scarcely ready to drink. As quirky as it ever was, even if the prices have doubled since the passing of Dr Carrodus.

medium plus intensity aromas of concentrated red cherry, herbal almost mint notes, cedar, clove, slight nutmeg. Peppery spice dominates the palate with hot red cherry. Front of mouth and more mid palate tongue coating notes. Doesn’t' really work for me. Meh

Very earthy oaky nose
Palate has smooth tannins; earthiness and mushrooms lead into gentle spices and a long subtle finish
Good but pricey

Its smoky and charry on the nose, dark and spicy, almost hot. Rich, juicy palate - all black cherries, spice, brambles, fine tannin. Lovely length.
