Deep ruby color. Nose of plum and some earth. Cherry and plum flavors. Pretty good mouthfeel and a nice finish where the plum flavors really explode. This was my last bottle, and the vines have been pulled, so Groth Merlot is pretty much a thing of the past for us. It was a good showing for a final farewell.

Tasting at winery. Plum and black cherry aromas with a good spice component. Ripe and rounded fruit on palate with good balance from tannins and acidity, also good length. Good now through 2011 or later.

Ruby red color, plum and cherry, quite smooth, as expected by its age, velvety texture

Decanted for about 2 hours, had with beef. Smooth, silky, nice finish. Enjoyed sharing with friends.
