Lunch at Cucinetta 5 May 2023: Tea coloured with a green/mahogany/golden tinge, this looks tempting. Complex nose of barley sugar, caramel, nutmeg, licorice and ginger snaps. There's a lot going on with this wine but no single dominating flavour, instead a spicey amalgam that invites another sniff or a sip. Not excessively sweet, as the wine has lived on its sugar so best with a subtle cheese rather than a desert 19.

Meals in France; 3/21/2022-3/26/2022 (France): Smoky apricot with a wonderful demi-sec character that comes with age. All very clean and bright with a long finish.
