  • Clear, medium watery rim and medium garnet core, developing

Nose is clean, after 2hr decant medium intense aromas of asfalt, ceramic, cherries, dark plum and thyme, developing

Palate is dry, medium+ acidity, tannins, alcohol, body and flavour intensity with aromas of cherries, liqourice, herbacious notes, medium finish

Well balanced, but the alcohol sticks out a bit, medium finish, quite intense wine with medium+ but lacks the complexity. Solid concentration and went very well with risotto and sirloin cooked on the yakatori grill. Very good quality and drinks well now, will probably keep for another 10 years at least, very good quality, 88-89p

  • Drinking the basic Barolo from a great producer almost makes me wonder why spend up for the Cru?? This is loaded with signature classic Nebbi aromas and flavors from an exceedingly well balanced vintage. I grabbed these from a cellar sell off & only got 2. Glad I have them, wish I had 2 or 3 more. Terrific Barolo at a price that doesn't break the bank nor give me pause to open any night of the week. Opened 3 hrs prior to dinner and finding it mostly resolved and open slow-oxed the rest of the way in a slightly larger Burg shape glass. Semi translucent ruby/garnet w/ Nebbi ambering edges. Roses, underbrush & fruit notes fill the glass. Balanced, elegant and lifted favors of red raspberry, tobacco leaf, soy, light iron infused mineral, tar, and forest floor notes. Paid $40, drinks like $75+. Obviously, still plenty of gas in the tank. I'll not touch my 2nd before 2026+

  • Needs around two hours to open up to mild and moderately expressive notes of red berries, tar and roses. Quite sweet fruit, with powerful, rich and long taste with very good acidity and soft tannins. Good now, will keep.

  • Lovely nose of nuts, mushrooms, wood, tar and licorice, leading to juicy, fresh, slim and sour taste wrapped in soft tannins.

  • This is traditional barolo. Like textbook stuff here. Very floral and fragrant, like you are in a flower shop. A little bit of animale but not much. Sweet red fruit but dry dry dry. Only got a glass as my friends slurped a lot and not one newbie said is it supposed to taste like this. A success.
