  • Even though this was a low fill and had to be decanted through a coffee filter at the end, this was one of those rare magic bottles of Burgundy where note after note of complex flavors and aromas file on one another for 30 minutes to an hour. I've been running a wine group for my employees for the past year and a half, and this was the first truly magic bottle they had experienced. Leather, mushrooms, cherry, smoke, freshly raked leaves, damp earth, fireplace ash--I could go on. An amazing wine. I have one left. Fingers crossed.

  • A pleasant wine, but not a blockbuster despite the pedigree. Still some fruit there, but slipping away and not being replaced by any great earthy complexity. Faded in the glass after about half an hour.
