Deep yellow. They don't make $20 wines like this anymore. Complex, detailed and almost spellbinding on the nose, this offers aromas of fresh green apple, starchy quince, dried yellow plums, celery leaf, brown lentils, braised carrots, white pepper, dried flowers and a crushed rock sort of minerality. Medium bodied on the palate but with a lot of junk in the trunk for a wine at 12.5% abv. This has medium+ acidity and an awesome balance between crisp, brightness and textured richness. Expansive and really delicious.

Another week, Another Burgundy Thursday: This wine is just delicious. It is a mineral-laden, zingy acid version of GV, with lots of lemon, grapefruit, and a tiny hint of honeyed beeswax. Ridiculous QPR.

Remembering from last night - beautiful zingy acidity, balance, not much in the way of the little bitter kick at the end that some Gruners give you - guessing it has complexity to gain from some more time in the cellar.

So good. Stunning, sparkling grapefruity acids, beautiful minerality, riding the edge of tropicality without the insipidness that implies. Some of these Gruners are some of my favorite white wines in the world. I'm not sure what the retail price is on this wine, but I'm getting these sub $20 in secondary markets, and at the moment I am hard pressed to think of another white wine in the world that I prefer at that price.
