Decanted for 1 hour and then paired with grilled NY strips - better with food than on it's own. Brown/red color. On nose, savory pipe tobacco, strawberry, dried cherry and with air, tomato paste. Palate was similar + red licorice. Medium+ body, medium tannins/acidity and very long finish. 92+/-
I prefer other Brunellos at this price point but a nice bottle of wine.
This was more developed than it should have been, but I still somewhat enjoyed it (even though Brunello is not my style). I would not call it flawed per se, but it would not be fair to score.

Italian evening at Nick's (Chez Nick): Dark and rich, lovely black fruit, a savoury edge, we knew this was going to be good even if in the shadow of the Fontodi 2010s. If ever a wine consistently seems to punch above its weight, this is it. Great with the food, very moreish.

(Il Poggione (Proprietá Franceschi) Brunello di Montalcino) Medium dark red violet color; floral, raspberry, tart cherry, sandalwood, clove nose; tasty, velvety, rounded, ripe cherry, tart raspberry puree palate with near medium acidity; approachable now but could use 6-plus years; long finish (14.5% alcohol)

Slow ox two hours. Needed more time. Dark fruit, cherry. Tannic should have decanted at least few hours. Hold
