The 2011 Citille di Sopra is a gorgeous Brunello with aromas of red fruits, cherries, spices and licorice all emerging from the glass. It possesses a medium body with wonderful balance and a beautiful silky texture that leads into the lingering finish, which leaves behind reg fruits spices and fresh minerals. Approachable now, but will ultimately show its best with a few years of bottle age. (Best 2017-2027)

PnP. I really enjoy this style of Brunello. Bright, crisp and with a touch of earth. Not at all brooding, heavy or particularly tannic. Great with food.

Nose: Quite pretty, elegant, and fresh with tart red cherries, mineral notes, red florals, perfumes, and earth notes. The nose favors the upper register with excellent depth.
Taste: Medium bodied with medium+ acidity and silky tannins. The structure is on the sneaky side, but there is a freshness to it too with tart red cherries, mineral tones, red florals, and a touch of raspberries.
Overall: this is very pretty and on the understated side in its youth. There is certainly room to develop, but one wouldn't be faulted for opening up a bottle right now and giving it some air.
