2013 is drinking so well right now while you wait for 12 and 14 to be ready. After a multi hour decant Dauvissat’s 2013 Clos radiates with power and intensity showing tremendous volume, density and layers of exotic fruit, oyster shell minerality, racy lemony acids and a long saline finish. Still many years to go.

Dauvissat Les Clos 2013. Super intensitet. Vakker og floral. Får svakt inntrykk av botrytis. Blir lett tropisk med mye varme. Rå konsentrasjon med en lekker syrestrek. Skikkelig bra saker. Nytelse nå, men kan ligge lenge. Svært lang med heftig mineralitet. Topp vin. 93-94p

just roaring out the gate - immediately ready to drink with surprisingly exotic fruit with great balance and length. It started out a little honeyed but that gave way to some sleek acid and salinity that really pulled the wine down deep into the finish. Drinking very well right now while you wait for the surrounding vintages.

This took about 90 minutes in the decanter to get going; initially felt a bit tropical, but with air it became more orchard fruit, sea breeze, iodine, crushed stone, and lemon peel. Still just a hint of exotic fruit and floral hints. The palate is nicely balanced with good depth and length. Nice finish. My experience with Dauvissat Le Clos thus far has been hit and miss; the 2014 was one of the greatest wines I've tasted; the 2008, 2011 were disappointing and likely at least a little oxidized; this was good, but not warranting the price tag. Not sure I'll continue to roll the dice at the current prices...

Reductive. Toasty straw. Beeswax. Spearmint. Lime tea. Golden. Decanted. Maybe too cold. Came around on day 2.
