My last of four bottles. Seemed like the perfect time, for as good as this has become, I'm sure its days are slowly numbered from here on out. So delicious and savory, with dried cherries and pomegranate flavors lifted by super bright acidity and gentle tannins to keep it honest. IPOB-AFWE-whatever, this is such the opposite end of the Syrah spectrum compared to say, Mollydooker. I'm happy to have both in the cellar, but I would rather reach for this style about 4 out of every 5 times. And at $16, all the more reason to hunt down similar wines. 4+11+16+8 = 89

Rustic, gritty and highlighted by a nice streak of red fruit and floral lift from the Viognier. Needs a few hours of air to find its charm and balance with the acidic tension happening on the palate. The personality is more lively and fun than it is seductive, but it's the kind of wine I like to pull on a gloomy Monday afternoon.

Notes after two hours open. Bright, medium depth ruby color with quick legs and no sediment present in the bottle. Tense, high-energy nose with layers of flowers, tobacco, tar, mint, and herbs. Tart, fresh, youthful palate with light tannins and abundant acidity. Definitely exudes a sense of place and is right up the AFWE alley. Enjoyable now, but I feel like it's yearning for more time in the cellar. 4+11+15+8= 88

Drank over tow nights. Pronounced funk on night one mellowed out by the second night. Excellent QPR. Will be a good back deck BBQ wine this summer.

Second bottle of this, and its markedly inferior to the first. The funk never blew off. Tart red fruit. Finishes sharp. Doubt I'll try another.
