When I poured this out Heidi said 'you should have given it some more air'. I gave it a 10 hour 'Audouze'! It was remarkably fresh. There were some leather, moss and compost aromas that indicated some age but it was also really crisp and bright with energetic briary fruits in the mouth. It was relatively full with good complexity and a perfume that gained in intensity the more time it spent in the glass. There was still decent grip to the finish.

Birth year wines (plus some extra's) (@ JB): Smoke, tobacco, cinnamon and other sweet spices in the bouquet. On the palate still some red fruit (acidity), caramel, cinnamon and coffee. Very mature, but still an enjoyable wine. Certainly considering the vintage a nice surprise. No score.
