A Good Monday, Vol II:: Unicorn sighting. Ethereal nose. Olive, animale, smoked meat, iron, and so on. Palate is silky, mostly resolved-ish. Elegant and pure. Integrated. Opened nicely with air. Excellent with the duck dishes. Beauty.

If you are one of those people who find even a soupçon of brett to be a fatal flaw, this was not a bottle for you. But for me and others, the animal hints just added to complexity to this medium-weight wine with good firmness and pure red fruits. A classic Côte Brune. Cellared since original release.

Stunning wine. Such purity and grace. Still young and fresh with refined tannins. Perfect bottle untouched in cellar for decades. Think good bottles will reach apogee in another 5 or 6 years. There is no other Cote Rôtie like he made them.

Thin wine. Not corked. Not much on the palate. Some very attenuated pleasant flavors for a second on the mid palate then the wine disappears. This may have been an off bottle

(Gentaz-Dervieux Cote Rotie) This showed beautifully. This is balls out pedal to the medal Cotie Rotie. Traditional as they come. Iron, beef blood, cassis, blueberries, minerals and more minerals. Palate was concentrated, pure, intense and gamey. Tannins were ripe and acidity was fresh and lively. Long finish. Still seemed youthful. If I had many more of these I would hold for ten more years. I think there are like 50 bottles or less of this left in the world.
