Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Cask sample. This wine underwent skin maceration. I'm amazed at how aromatic this wine was, before the oxidation set in. Aromas of roses, apricot, and other stone fruit. I joked that this could be sold as table wine, if it hadn't already been fortified. The palate was similarly fresh and fruity, but the palate was drier than I would have expected. It was quite a treat to taste a Madeira before its long journey in wood. This will likely become a colheita or fresqueira.
