  • Mature colour, salmon colour towards onion / brick orange.
Nose: Mature notes of red berries (red currant and raspberry), forest leaves, mushroom.
Taste & palate: Mature and round but still quite fruity, reasonably fresh and with a bit more body than when first tasted, in 2012. Gives a slightly sweet impression in the after taste, which is actually quite decent and quite long.
A very mature rose which probably may not have been intended to be drunk as late as this, in its 4th year, but due to fruit and acidity holds up well. Also noting that this is one of the few mature wines where the taste is more interesting (and complex) than the nose. Drink up within end of next year (2015).
There is nothing very sophisticated or overly complex about this, which originally was a quite basic german rose. But it delivers on that one main criterion, namely delivering something interesting to the drinker. I like.
