deep red with purple hue. rich flavours, bold and firm tannins, oaky, full- bodied, some alcohol hot in throat, some dark chocolate in m+ finish. need another 3 years to age.
dark crimson/purple, inky core and lighter edge. cassis and dark plum flavours, bold oak flavour dominating palate, well integrated. heavy weight tannins but supple and generally smooth, slightly sweet, balanced in general, medium/long finish.
a fairly good CS with good density and big structure, reflects the greatest vintage of Hawke's Bay. but far from natural expressing, artificially handled very much if not too much. still young.
16 months oak barriques, 41% new.
NZIWS 2014 Trophy, AirNZ 2014 Gold, Hawkes Bay 2014 Gold, WINESTATE 5 stars, Michael Cooper 5 stars.

Best NZ blend I had the chance to try. A dark, fruity and complex middle with a wonderful earthy, savoury finish.
