  • 12,5% alcohol.

Pale limpid whitish-green color. Very ripe and sweet-toned nose with vibrant and attractive aromas of lemon marmalade, some star fruit, a little bit of honeyed richness and a hint of apple blossom. The wine is full-bodied, ripe and somewhat oily yet very youthful, racy and dry on the palate with flavors of golden apples, some white flowers, a little bit of barely ripe peach, a hint of lemony citrus fruits and a touch of steely minerality. The wine is quite high in acidity, lending enjoyably fresh and racy character to the wine. The finish is lively, focused and somewhat steely with bright, pure flavors of lemony citrus fruits, tart green apples, some apple peel bitterness, a little bit of pithy grapefruit and a hint of honeyed richness.

A stylish, sophisticated and enjoyably ripe Spätlese Riesling that feels just too youthful and primary at this point. The wine isn't too tightly-knit so it would require additional aging to resolve its structure, but the wine just feels too primary and straightforward at this point. For current consumption, the wine offers only rather simple pleasure, but it offers good potential for future development. Let it wait at least for another 4-6 years more to get the most of it.
