A revisit of vintage 2012 that is fading fast, drink now. Overripe fruits, blackberry and blackcurrant with some tobacco but as always with Michael David wines it's the oaky aromas that dominates both aroma and palate. Vanilla, coconut and smoke. Strong fruit sweetness and alcohol which the weak acidity is unable to balance. Medium astringency. Rather short finish. A bit disappointing this time round.

Drank this side by side with a 2011 Prisoner. The older Prisoners are much better than the more recent ones; so this was a good comparison. The comparison was very close but I gave the edge to the Gluttony as it was much fuller with a much better lingering taste. I think it is at its peak but I would be interested in tasting a bottle in 2 years if I had one left.

Hickory, berries, sherry (probably because it’s past its prime)
