Fun to drink, low alcohol, plenty of residual sugar. Loads of fruit aromas, pear and peach in particular. Petroleum minerality, especially as it warms up.Still very fresh in mid 2010. Did well with a Spanish goat cheese "Leonora".

Here's Exhibit A in favor of the aging potential of lowly QbAs -- as well as the screwcap, or the 2003 vintage. Take your pick. This comes across nearly dry with refreshing, pale, melon-favored fruit and a strong, tactile impression of slate. In other words, a mouthful of Mosel.

I did not take detailed notes on this but I remember the wine being a light straw color. The nose was minerals, citrus, apple, and just a notion of petrol that I love in the older rieslings. Nice fruit on the palate with just a touch of sweetness. Could use a little more acidity but overall a very nice wine. Medium length finish.

$10 at Cost Plus, 8.5%. Screwcap, which actually popped off, out of the cap. Interestingly, this is starting to develop petrol flavor, which I dislike, even at this young age. Still, it blows off, and what's left is nicely chalky, extraordinarily well balanced, and light bodied. Just off-dry, and a very pretty wine to enjoy on a summer evening. Very Good.

Light, refreshing wine. Typical nose of diesel, apple and pears. Wonderfully balanced, with a good finish. Fantastic value!
