At 10 years it's finally coming into it's own. Burgundy like dark, nose and palate a blend of subdued dark fruit and woody earth. Definitely decant, better second night, great with red meat, solid structure with no sharp edges, I will age remaining bottles.

Two bottle lot purchased at a recent auction - the first bottle opened a few weeks ago was in great shape and was really very nice and enjoyable. This bottle was completely marred by totally overwhelming volatile acidity -- pure nail polish remover. Confirmed by my wife who immediately called nail polish remover with my only prompt "what do you think?" Not sure what would cause one bottle to be so good and one with so much VA (presumably purchased together originally).

13.9% abv. Recent auction purchase. As many previous notes have suggested, this is on the more "elegant" side of Cali Pinot -- a plus for my palate, though some may find it too light. My wife and I both really enjoyed this (over two evenings). At this age, it is not yet into tertiary territory, but is seamless in a way that only bottle age and good balance can bring. Interesting flavor profile -- reminded me of many a Pinot from Santa Maria...but not quite. This is clearly unfiltered as this was pretty cloudy with a lot of suspended particulates -- this contributed to a "fleshy" mouthfeel that I really find attractive.

Retail $40. I bought six bottles of this wine back in 2014 from the now-defunct Wineshopper.com which was the Wine.com answer to Wines Til Sold Out (WTSO.com), the original (and still best?) wine flash site (one wine on sale until sold out). Still surprisingly fresh with black cherry and some darker fruit (blackberry) lighting up the nose. The palate is quite, well, fun, with plenty of fruit, a near-searing acidity, and several layers of complexity. Fantastic. thedrunkencyclist.com
